Arts, Science and Commerce College Harsul is a small unit situated in tribal zone which consists of 13 faculty members. The present strength of the college including junior, senior and PG students has steadily grown and stand today at 1250. As an institute, we have every reason to be encouraged and proud as our tribal students and committed staff members are continuously persisting not only to do their bit ,but also walking their extra mile. I would like to mention that Tribal Students are generally been left behind the mainstream of education particularly Higher Education. In the edge of globalization and market economy our tribal students find it hard to satisfy the merit requirements of today's competitive age. Our college has a large number of students from marginalized section. 95% of the students belong to scheduled tribes. Therefore, we are determined to make them competent enough so that they can compete with their urban counterparts.
As we all know quality has become the defining element of education in the context of Higher Education in the 21st century. Hence it is not a time to rest on this achievement and be content with 'B' grade. In the era of globalization, we have to march ahead and live up to the growing expectations with more sincerity, dedication and responsibility. In the post-accreditation period our efforts will be directed at promoting Research and Extension activities and promoting social contribution by the college. Acquisition of quality and sustenance is certainly a challenge particularly for a small unit like ours but I firmly believe that small and moderate people at small places can do wonder!. We are looking forward to carry out all the academic extra academic and student centric activity with increased zeal, continuous improvement and innovations in the post accreditation period.
